MRS. SMITH'S® Baking Tips and Tricks
- Place pie on a baking sheet to allow the crust to bake more evenly.
- Keep an eye on your pie while it is baking; if the outer crust is browning too quickly, cover it with aluminum foil.
- For a shinier, crispier crust, beat an egg and apply with a pastry brush to the top crust before baking.
MRS. SMITH'S® Cherry-Chocolate and Hazelnut Pie
Want to grace your dinner table with a dessert that looks like it came from a high end bakery without the high end cost?
- Bake a MRS. SMITH'S® Original Flaky Crust Cherry Pie following the instructions on the back of the box.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour.
- Gently smooth a thin layer of your favorite chocolate-hazelnut spread (Nutella works well) to the top of the pie. If the spread is too firm, microwave for 10 second intervals and stir until it is easier to spread.
- Allow the pie to finish cooling as desired. When ready to serve, garnish with rosettes of Whipped Cream and either fresh or jarred Bing cherries.
MRS. SMITH'S® Pie Parfaits
Call the kids to the kitchen to help prepare this fun and easy Pie Parfait.
- Bake a MRS. SMITH'S® Original Flaky Crust Apple Pie following the instructions on the back of the box.
- Allow to cool completely at room temperature (about 2 hours).
- In a bowl, mix equal amounts of store bought fruit dip and your favorite brand of whipped topping.
- To assemble, alternate scoops of the baked pie with the whipped topping mixture and garnish with your favorite candies or sprinkles.
