MRS. SMITH'S® Pie Baking Tips and Tricks

MRS. SMITH'S® Baking Tips and Tricks

  • Place pie on a baking sheet to allow the crust to bake more evenly.
  • Keep an eye on your pie while it is baking; if the outer crust is browning too quickly, cover it with aluminum foil.
  • For a shinier, crispier crust, beat an egg and apply with a pastry brush to the top crust before baking.

Want to grace your dinner table with a dessert that looks like it came from a high end bakery without the high end cost?

  • Bake a MRS. SMITH'S® Original Flaky Crust Cherry Pie following the instructions on the back of the box.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour.
  • Gently smooth a thin layer of your favorite chocolate-hazelnut spread (Nutella works well) to the top of the pie. If the spread is too firm, microwave for 10 second intervals and stir until it is easier to spread.
  • Allow the pie to finish cooling as desired. When ready to serve, garnish with rosettes of Whipped Cream and either fresh or jarred Bing cherries.
